Cupcakes and Cakes, oh my!

I had a request for my scotch-whiskey cupcakes and this past Saturday was the last class for the Wilton Course 1 that I teach. This group was so awesome and the largest group I've ever taught. It's always great to have a nice size group, it makes the class so fun and time always flies by when you're having fun! The first 3 pics are my creations and the other pics are my students cakes. One student is a cake decorator at a well known grocery store, can you guess which cake belongs to her?!?! Lol

And yes, my buttrrcream was melting 😡

My First Class

Yesterday I instructed my first Wilton Course 1 class. Initially I was nervous because I found out the day before that I had students and I wasn't prepared. The last thing a gal wants to do is sound like a goof!!!

But it went smoothly, I realized that they were just like me when I first started, looking for someone to teach them the correct way. I won't bore you with the details because it was more exciting when I took the course and I spoke about my trials and tribulations. So now that I'm on the other side and know what I'm doing the only thing that I can critique myself on is needing to improve my timing...the class went over about 30 mins.

These are the cupcakes I decorated yesterday with my students.

Yes, I ran out of frosting...lol.

Week 2 - Cupcakes!

Class #2 was cupcake decorating. Silly me woke up Saturday morning baking homemade vanilla cupcakes. I'll never do that again. Not only did I attend my regular class, I also signed up for a one day Cupcake course. So it was double everything for me!!!  Anyway, I don't have much to say except I'm learning a lot and I had fun. See my pics below. The first two pics are from the one day course and the other pics are from my regular class.
